What are custom cable assemblies?

Custom cable assemblies are the connections that transmit electrical power, data and signals between different components, playing an essential, and often underestimated, role in modern technology. These tailored solutions are found in everything; from medical devices saving lives, energy systems we use daily, and agricultural technology providing food supply.

Our Custom Cable Assembly adheres to IPC/WHMA-A-620 standards, which define the quality requirements for Custom Cable Assemblies. Our ISO 9001 and ISO 13485 certifications reflect our commitment to quality and process management. These certifications form the foundation for delivering reliable and safe products that meet your requirements.

Your partner in cables

Our clients are primarily European companies, but our services are not limited to this region. While we focus on the medical sector, energy and agricultural industries, our expertise adds value across a wide range of sectors. We partner with businesses looking to streamline their supply chain, tackle design challenges or enhance production efficiency.

We take care

We take care of the entire custom cable production process, solving the key challenges our customers experience. Cable assembly requires specialized expertise, experience and advanced machinery, something that can be difficult to organize in-house. We take care of supply chain management and material procurement to assembly and the delivery of fully tested products on-time, at the right location.

The process from your request to delivery

We follow a streamlined process to deliver a consistent and high-quality product:
Understanding your requirements
The process starts with discussing and understanding your product: its application, target market, current status (existing or new), annual production volumes and batch sizes. Additionally, we discuss logistical requirements, labelling, traceability requirements, and your specific quality and regulatory requirements.
Technical analysis
We examine the technical product documentation, such as drawings and the bill of materials, to ensure everything is complete and clear. We analyze manufacturability and will propose potential optimizations and material alternatives when relevant. Additionally, we assess testing and inspection requirements, including test specifications and final inspections.
Supply chain and quotation
We check material availability and provide a detailed quotation and production schedule.
Sampling and validation
We sample each product. We do this to validate the interpretation and ensure that the product meets your exact requirements and expectations. This is a critical step in ensuring product quality throughout series production.
Production
Once the sample is approved, we begin series production. Throughout the production process, we maintain continuous quality control and improvement.
Packaging and delivery
After production, we ensure safety packaging and shipment of the products to your requested location. We take care of the invoicing and ensure all administrative processes are completed.

Questions and answers

What is needed for a quote?

To create a detailed quote, we need the complete drawing and bill of materials and if needed, an assembly and/or test instruction. This allows us to provide an accurate price estimate and production timeline.

Can alternative components be offered?
Yes, we can suggest alternative components if certain parts are difficult to source or if we can achieve cost savings without compromising on quality. We analyze manufacturability and offer alternative component suggestions where possible. We will never use alternative components without your explicit approval.

How quickly is delivery possible?
Delivery time depends on the complexity of the product, availability of components and order size. A sample run can be processed quickly, while series production may take a few weeks. We always work closely to provide clear lead times and meet your expectations as best as possible.

How is quality guaranteed?
Our production meets IPC/WHMA-A-620 standards. With ISO 9001 and ISO 13485 certifications, we adhere to the highest standards for quality and process management.

Can Zign help with testing the cable assembly?

Yes, we offer various testing options, ranging from electrical testing of the cable assembly to comprehensive functional testing according to your requirements.
